Google search console, or "webmaster tools", as it is commonly referred to, can help you to know which keyword your site is already ranking for.
On your dashboard, click on "search traffic" and then click "search analytics." from this screen you can choose to see data based on "clicks", "impressions", "click through rate (ctr)" and "position (ranking)".

It provides direct insights from google, and this is where you want to rank your content.
Even if you choose to use one of the 35 other keyword research methods in this list, adwords keyword planner is a great place to verify your findings and check search volume, competition and other valuable data. .
To find keywords with this tool, first navigate to the keyword planner in your adwords account;

Google trends 

Google trends shows you interest over time for a keyword, which can be valuable in deciding whether some targeting is qualified or not.
It also shows you related searches that can not be seen in regular search - this is often an unexpected opportunity.
To find these keyword gems with google trends, type a search term like "search engine optimization" and scroll to the bottom of the page to see the top related questions;

Quora

Quara is a q & a website with a growing community of members of all areas of life.
Your customers are going by, and they are typing into questions to answer people. Those types of questions are similar to words they would type in google search.
To find keyword opportunities, open a door in your internet browser and search for your main topic.
This search looks like this, i've searched for "email marketing" and you can see a whole group of popular questions that include that word.

Youtube is the world's second largest search engine behind google, which processes more than 3 billion searches a month ...
This makes an excellent place for me for the keyword
